DeSantis Accuses Biden Of Running ‘Human Smuggling Operation’ Of Migrants

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis dropped a bombshell as he has just accused the Joe Biden administration of being involved in a “human smuggling operation.”

On Monday he raised the stakes in his war against President Biden and his immigration policies, Fox News reported.

The governor argued that that dozens of flights coming in the middle of the night that brings migrants to Jacksonville from the southern border is, for all intents and purposes, a “human smuggling operation.”

“So, the border is obviously a disaster and some people say, ‘Well, that’s a problem for Texas or Arizona.’ Well, actually, the Biden administration puts people on planes and flies them into Florida in the wee hours of the morning,” he said.

“They’ve done over 70 flights in the last six months, dump people here. And we had—a few weeks ago—one of those people that Biden dumped, ended up committing a murder in northeast Florida. So, these are crimes that would not have happened but for Biden’s recklessness,” the governor said.

“So, our view is, if they’re going to be dumping, we want to be able to facilitate transfer to places like Delaware, and, so, we have $8 million in my new budget to be able to do that. We also look to these carriers that the federal government is contracting with, and we are going to pass legislation that says, ‘If you are facilitating Biden’s policies, which is effectively a mass human smuggling operation, you are not going to be able to do business with the state of Florida or other local governments, and we are going to charge you restitution for each individual that you are bringing,” he said.

In November, the Florida governor threatened to take the migrants and send them to Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.

“There’s no notification to the state of Florida,” DeSantis said. “These are done mostly in the middle of the night. And it’s clandestine. And we really have no say into it. … I know when we initially got wind of this, it wasn’t through normal channels, it’s people in the federal government who are effectively leaking this to us so that we have a heads up on it.”

“The President has said that basically, they want to even pay reparations to people who came illegally, just think about that,” DeSantis said.

“You as an American, you get higher gas prices, you get higher grocery bills, you get told basically, to just grin and bear it, someone breaks the law, comes illegally, and they’re going to cut him a check for hundreds of thousands of dollars. That is just unbelievable. But that’s what we’re dealing with,” he added.

“You know, my view would be, why don’t we, if they’re going to come here, you know, we’ll provide buses,” DeSantis said.

He added: “I will send them to Delaware and do that. I mean, if he’s not going to support the border being secured, then he should be able to have everyone there. So, we will do whatever we can in that regard. And we are absolutely going to do everything we can.”

“We should be able to have consequences for those contractors and your ability to do business in Florida I should absolutely be curtailed based on whether or not you’re bringing problems or not bringing problems,” he continued.

“But even then, you saw what happened with the OSHA decision,” DeSantis said. “It was stayed by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, meaning not in effect, and what did the Biden administration say to businesses? Ignore the court and follow our rule anyways. And so, I think that they basically said, ‘No, to hell with these court decisions,’ they’re going to do whatever they feel like doing. And so that’s something that’s problematic, because we can even win in court, and they may disregard guard that.”
