On Nov 3, 2020, Joe Biden was credited with receiving 81,282,916 votes nationally. President Joe Biden’s first job approval number came in at 57% (Jan 21-Feb 2), today he is at 42%.
The problem for the Biden team is Joe’s poor performance in office. As a result of the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, massive inflation, and skyrocketing crime, ETC., only 16 percent of American adults in the latest NPR/Marist poll strongly approve of President Biden’s job performance.

In addition, Americans don’t feel the direct payments or expanded child tax credits doled out earlier this year helped them much, and they don’t see Democrats’ signature legislation as addressing their top economic concern — inflation.
The job performance polling number is worrisome for the president. More than double the number of people who strongly disapprove of Biden’s job performance compared to those who strongly approve of it.
38 percent strongly disapprove of Biden’s job performance, 22 points higher than those who strongly support Biden’s job performance.
Biden’s support with independents is collapsing. Only 10 percent of independents strongly approve of the president’s performance, while a whopping 38 percent strongly disapprove — a 28 point difference.
Moreover, more Democrats (5 percent) strongly disapprove of Biden’s job performance than Republicans strongly approve (2 percent).
Even amongst the Democrats white college graduates, a key voting bloc for Democrats, 35 percent strongly disapprove of Biden’s performance, while just 20 percent strongly approve.

People under the age of 45 also gave the president a thumbs down. Only 8 percent strongly approve of his performance, while 33 percent strongly disapprove.
The poll sampled 1,172 adults from November 30 through December 6. The margin of error is 3.8 percentage points.
